Permanent Exhibition

The National Museum of Costume has in its collections historical dress and accessories from the 17th to the 21st centuries, where we can find objects of women's, men's and children's attire. In addition to these pieces of urban and European influence, mainly French and English, the Museum also features pieces of Portuguese and foreign regional costume, liturgical vestments and toys.

The permanent exhibition, COSTUME IN PORTUGAL FROM THE 18th CENTURY TO THE PRESENT DAY, in the Noble Floor of the Angeja-Palmela Palace presents objects that trace a chronological evolution of the different styles and trends of dress worn by the nobility and bourgeoisie in Portugal.
